Mark Walker and Joachim Sedelmeier from British premium footwear label Skive have been colluding with us on a special DENHAM X SKIVE collaboration. The guys took their signature last, their beautiful leather qualities and their fresh spring-in-your-step approach to detailing and they blended these elements with the same army-surplus tent canvas we've used in our own ReCut D.G.L. edition garment styles.

Mark & Joachim stopped by the studio and the shop recently to check-in with us and help finesse our presentation of the newly delivered program. We had the chance to inspect the details together and, from our side, we have to say that they've done an incredible job. From the extra pair of laces made from rolled tent fabric to the leather linings to the labeling and packaging it's very clear they also believe the Truth is in the Details.

Skive's achievement converting the influence of our brand as well as the vintage re-cut raw material is doubly impressive when we reflect on the process we use to acquire these fabrics. As we show in our Denham Garment Library section, we're able to use our network of contacts in the world of vintage to help find items to upcycle in re-cut designs.

But having the contacts is only the start. The rest of the time is spent digging through their inventory which can be dark, damp and dirty work. We're sort of like archeologists digging with a combination of sweat and faith -faith that we'll find what we hope is hidden beneath the surface. It counts as a good day when our foraging unearths enough material to clean, recondition, re-cut and use to make something absolutely unique. When Skive's final product arrived, it felt like a very good day indeed.
