AW12 Mac Station Header

The all-new AW12 Mac Station mackintosh field smock picks up where our original left off. The design braids together three major design influences.  A Belgian mountain parka, a Faulklands-era British OD smock and our own Commission trench coat.  The objective was to maintain the iconic attitude of the mountain parka (we’ve got versions in our library from Belgium, Switzerland and Germany) but create a jacket with an easier zip-on functionality and more progressive contemporary features. -And this season to completely re-imagine the style in full bodied rubberized mackintosh fabric.

The Mac Station is crafted from a special 2ply mackintosh fabric. Mackintosh fabric is distinguished by its construction; two layers of gaberdine sandwiching a thin layer of rubber.  In other words, a rubber sandwich. Our fabric was produced using two contrasting colors of gaberdine and we've built the jacket in both "directions" to create two color options. One features a red exterior and blue facing, the other is blue with a red facing. Both are lined in warm compact wool melton.

Features on the Mac Station include:

Six Pack of Exterior Pockets - This set-up comes directly from the British Army denison smock but we extended the chest pockets to capture the spirit and storage-capacity of older mountain parkas.  Four of these pockets are a tapered box construction, the other two are zipper chest access. This is all in addition to tailored interior pocketing.

iPad Interior Pocket - We took a gamble that the folks at Apple would keep the same basic size for the iPad during the time it took us to develop this new style.  We built a low interior pocket from thick neoprene and scaled it to work for an iPad or other large items.

IPhone Chest Pocket Sleeve - Within the main cavity of the right chest pocket we've added a protective neoprene inner pocket to keep your phone or media player snug.

Cable Connection Wind Flap - A Denham signature, we've eliminated button holes and increased the strenght of the center front flap closure.

Flip-Snap Cuffs - Our own innovation allowing you to fold the curved cuffs upward and use the wrist-tightening strap to hold the fold in place.

Lining Button-Set - If you're lucky enough to get hold of our new AW12 Liner Type 3, it can be buttoned into the new Mac Station for igloo levels of warmth.

Removable Branding Epaulette Slide - Military personnel sometime employ a simple embroidered sleeve which can be slipped over the shoulder epaulette on a shirt or moved to a button-strap on the front-center of a jacket.  This allows rank to be visible with or without a jacket.  We boosted this concept to create branding that can be removed or shown-off as desired.
