Crossback Jeans - JLWIV
Crossback Jeans - JLWIV
Japan Lightweight Indigo Virgin (JLWIV): Japanese denim is some of our most premium product. It's made by Japanese artisans who use old school shuttle looms and arduous, time-consuming production methods to create amazing results.
‘Virgin’ is DENHAM’s name for the purest form of denim – it’s denim that has been dyed and woven, but hasn’t undergone a pre-wash. This type of denim fabric allows the user to create a completely unique, personalised wear pattern over time.
Selvedge refers to self-finished edges — roll up the cuff of your jeans to have a peek. It’s a technical term that stems from old school shuttle looms.
The Cross Back is DENHAM’s distinctive cinch back style. Instead of constructing a traditional “buckle back” jean, we created this exclusive “cross back” model with a cinched back and DENHAM’s signature details: dropped yokes, 7-point back pockets, and a one-piece articulated leg with no side seams. This style is particularly popular in Japan, and has been enthusiastically embraced by the country’s denim connoisseurs.

Selvedge (UK) or selvage (US) refers to a narrow, tightly woven band on the edges of denim fabric.
Made in Japan - ‘Japan has one of the most educated denim markets in the world,’ says Jason Denham. ‘They have, I think, some of the best materials and best denim, especially in the raw selvedge kind of fabric.’
Used in workwear since 1873, copper hardware has been around for almost as long as jeans have.
Jason Denham introduced our iconic 7-point pocket in his earliest designs; it’s inspired by the natural anatomy of a hand.
Our yoke panels are finished with our signature print – a collection of scissor artwork we’ve designed over the years.
We love to showcase our signature scissor print, and you’ll find it on the fishbone fabric used to make front pocket bags.
