Selvedge (UK) or selvage (US) refers to a narrow, tightly woven band on the edges of denim fabric.
Made in Japan - ‘Japan has one of the most educated denim markets in the world,’ says Jason Denham. ‘They have, I think, some of the best materials and best denim, especially in the raw selvedge kind of fabric.’
Used in workwear since 1873, copper hardware has been around for almost as long as jeans have.
Jason Denham introduced our iconic 7-point pocket in his earliest designs; it’s inspired by the natural anatomy of a hand.
Our yoke panels are finished with our signature print – a collection of scissor artwork we’ve designed over the years.
We love to showcase our signature scissor print, and you’ll find it on the fishbone fabric used to make front pocket bags.

Afterglow
Watch the Video
This season is inspired by the idea of “afterglow” — the hazy hours between sunset and sunrise, when cities come alive with bright, luminous lights.
In particular we looked to Tokyo, where the midnight hour triggers a seemingly infinite glow of neon signage. This play of light and dark inspires is reflected throughout the collection, with vibrant bursts of colour appearing in trims, embroideries, linings and lettering.

Selvedge Jeans
A symbol of quality
Selvedge refers to self-finished edges — roll up the cuff of your jeans to have a peek. It’s a technical term that stems from old school shuttle looms. Selvedge fabrics are woven on 28-30 inch looms, which create narrower fabric that’s associated with premium quality. These looms were replaced in the 1970s and ‘80s by more effective and wider 58-60 inch looms. Today, few mills still use the smaller looms since they operate at a slower rate – but they produce more natural irregularities across the denim’s surface. These come to life when subjected to special wash and wear pattern recipes and can produce more beautiful finishing effects.
Japanese Denim
A homage to the Japanese flag
‘Japan has one of the most educated denim markets in the world,’ says Jason Denham. ‘They have, I think, some of the best materials and best denim, especially in the raw selvedge kind of fabric.’
In the 1960s, the big American weaving mills switched from narrow 29” looms to more efficient 55” weaving machines. As the Americans phased out the laborious ‘old school’ method of production, the Japanese purchased the old machines and have continued using them to today. They have since combined traditional American qualities with their own touch: the best yarns; the most rigorous standards for dyeing and weaving; premium fits; and the highest attention to artisan detail.
The Logo
691 stitches in every DENHAM scissor logo
For Jason Denham, scissors are a symbol of his craft. Throughout his career he’s collected thousands of pairs – each with a unique story and past. But there’s one scissor that’s the most important: his first pair, which inspired the brand’s iconic logo. Every pair of jeans in our men’s collection is stamped with this trademark, which is meticulously crafted from 691 stitches.

7 Point Pocket
A DENHAM signature detail
Jason Denham introduced our iconic 7-point pocket in his earliest designs; it’s inspired by the natural anatomy of a hand. We later evolved to include a 5-point pocket in our collections, but we didn’t want to lose this important part of our brand heritage. We now make our coin pockets as 7-point, as a subtle nod to tradition.
Durable Front Pocket
The most durable pocket bags
We love to showcase our signature scissor print, and you’ll find it on the fishbone fabric used to make front pocket bags. So in addition to being super durable, they capture a little piece of history every time you reach in your pockets. (Scissor freaks can also look out for our scissor print on interior yoke panels.)
Premium Hardware
Copper meets black satin powder coating
In every design we make, we aim to combine our vintage inspirations with original DENHAM details. A distinct example is our premium copper hardware. Used in workwear since 1873, copper hardware has been around for almost as long as jeans have. We add a black satin powder coating, which gives a luxurious and modern twist to a nostalgic classic.
Yoke Panels
A sign of craftsmanship
Our yoke panels are finished with our signature print – a collection of scissor artwork we’ve designed over the years. So, every time you look inside your jeans, you’ll see a little bit of history.
Wash & Care
Let your jeans tell your story
Once you’ve invested in premium quality denim, it’s important to take proper care of your purchase. This will not only prolong the life of your jeans, but it will help them get better with age and tell a story — your story.

The Truth is in the Details
I’ve dedicated my life to making the perfect jeans. They’re my passion and my pride. Like a chef, I hand pick all my ingredients: I study tradition and technique, and obsess over every detail. I honour heritage and authenticity, while bringing a modern twist to my craft. I believe ‘The Truth is in the Details’ and every pair of DENHAM jeans tells a story – one that evolves every time they’re worn. I’m excited to share in this journey and story with you.
